Sorry bad joke.

Etching in acrylic isn’t a new thing, but I have been noticing it a little more in weddings. Using this technique not just for invitations, but for menus, table numbers and more. I honestly can’t decide how I feel about it. I do like using an unconventional surface, but I feel like it should make sense with your aesthetic. I also like it when the type is designed well, clean and minimalist. Not all swirly and scripty, orĀ heart-shaped and face-y.

These are nice though. I may have to try this technique for a wedding. I honestly have no idea how much it costs though. I’d guess as much as letterpress, but who knows? Anyone? Bueller?

I really want to try this. But i fear it will turn out to be some sort of crafting disaster. I wonder what picture I could use. Oh who am I kidding. It would probably be one of Jack.

Yes I know I’m 2 days late on this but it’s still pretty clever. Happy Friday!

Um, how amazing would it have been if the president did this after his speech?

I found a couple of old crates on the sidewalk this evening and thought “jackpot!” I’ve been meaning to grab some for scrap wood for forever so when I saw some hanging outside my apartment, I had to take them home. They have so much potential for creative projects! I’ll probably chop mine up and use the wood parts, but look at some of these cool repurposed crate ideas that people have come up with. I love the rustic look it gives a room.

This is a new take on my original SIN invitation. I played around with some new typefaces and chose some appropriate bachelorette colors of hot pink and black. I’m thinking of lining the envelopes with hot pink or red glitter paper. I think it will look pretty hot!

Well I think i’ve gotten to the age where taking regular meds is a good idea, or at least having some on hand if necessary. Whether it’s birth control, anti-anxiety meds, a TUMS, an aspirin, or a vitamin, I feel like I need to have all of them handy for me or my husband or a friend in need.

But of course I can’t just shlep around these pills in an ugly old pill bottle. Nooo, I’m planning on getting on of those cute vintage pill boxes. I found a ton on Etsy and can’t decide which one to get. I think it needs to be pretty sizeable though to fit the pharmacy that I will be carrying. Below are just a few cuties I found on Etsy:

This afternoon my office is throwing a little tiki party happy hour which should be fun. We’ll have a few makeshift decorations, but more importantly we’ll have all of the key ingredients for a Mai Tai. I got to thinking though about my Tiki party would look like if I were to ever throw one myself. I’m thinking I would call it “Vintage Tiki Eclectic.” Lots of paper umbrellas, mixed floral patterns and of course a tiki mug.

My favorite decoration though of all is this:

Yes. That is a remote control giant flying fish and we WILL be having this at our party today.

I may have nightmares about this, but it’s awesome. At the end, record your own music by pressing the keys. Definitely press the letter A.
