This was probably the most fun wedding I’ve ever designed to, and possibly attended too! The bride is a good friend of mine and fellow creative, so I got to go a little crazier than usual with their invitation concept. She came to me with a couple ideas. One was to make their wedding day sound like an event (in a funny way) and call it “THE WEDDING.” The other was idea was to go totally casual, simple and completely understated. So what did I do? The complete opposite! Well kind of. I took the concept of “THE WEDDING” and blew it up to be a funny wedding extravaganza to the point of ridiculous. The original design included stretch hummers, fireworks, doves and cannons. You can view it here. We decided to personalize it a bit more though and included palm trees and kebobs to touch on their wedding location and Persian culture.  It was also the couple’s idea to have their little heads being shot off the cake by canons. Nice touch! The end result is above – a black and white screenprint on chipboard, a bright sherbert envelope and cannon address label.

Check out their gorgeous fun wedding below:

That would be a GIANT wedding certificate (and giant pen) they signed at the alter.

My favorite picture of the night- the last one!

The amazing photographer is Molly Watson.

So I’m probably the last person with an iPhone to download the instagr.am app on my phone, but now that I have, I am addicted. My nice camera was stolen a few months ago so all I have left right now is my camera phone. But thanks to the magic of photo filters, all of my photos (at least in miniature form) can look pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

Well hello ladies…

“Hit me up with an Arnold Palmer, would ya?”

This weekend we are going to a friend’s wedding in Palm Springs. I am so excited because 1.) I love weddings and 2.) I’ve always wanted to visit Palm Springs but have never been. I’m obsessed with all of the architecture and design there. Beautiful mid-century modern buildings in gorgeous desert landscapes.

The hotel we’re staying at isn’t quite mid-century, but it definitely is modern. It’s the Viceroy designed by the amazing designer Kelly Wearstler. I had the pleasure of staying at the Viceroy in Santa Monica a while ago, and loved it so I’m excited to see more of her designs here in Palm Springs. Here’s a few photos I collected of the hotel. Oh, and the best thing is, they’re pet-friendly so that means, Jack’s coming too!

And Jack and I found the perfect outfits to match the decor too!
